Turmeric is a powerful anti-inflammatory, along with being an incredible cooking spice. If you’re only familiar with turmeric powder you will be shocked at the complexity of the fresh root. Young turmeric has a slightly mellower, less astringent flavor than the older root. Enjoy it in tea, smoothies, or your favorite curry!
